How to enable comments for a post
When you have comments enabled for your publication, you can choose which subscribers can engage by liking and commenting on your posts.
Quick tips to get you started
-
Turn comments on first: Before you can access the Comments Section on any post, comments must be activated in the Website Builder for your publication.
-
Customize your comment settings: beehiiv offers flexibility with comments, allowing different setups depending on whether you’re managing the post as an admin, engaging subscribers, or are a reader.
-
Collaborate with team members: If your publication includes additional team members, you can leave internal comments for each other directly in the post editor.
- Enable comment buttons: To let subscribers like or comment on your post, you’ll need to enable the comment option in the Post Builder (see steps below).
How to enable comments on an individual post
- From the left panel Dashboard, click Start Writing, or open a post that you would like to edit.
- The Post Builder will open on the Compose page. Switch over to the Web page from the top navbar. Under the Web post settings, go to Comments.
- Click on the down arrow next to All subscribers and choose between it and Paid subscribers only, Disabled: Hide comments section, or Locked: Show comments section, but disable new comments.
- After you publish the post and it is live, you will then be able to preview and moderate the comment section.
How to add an engagement button for comments or likes on a post
You can also give your subscribers the ability to like or comment on your post with just a single click in the email header.
- From the left panel Dashboard, click Start Writing, or open a post that you would like to edit.
- The Post Builder will open on the Compose page. Click the Email page at the top to move to the Email part of the post flow.
- Under Email header buttons, toggle on Likes & Comments to enable the engagement button for the post.
