Monetize Boosts dashboard overview

Available on paid beehiiv plans. Click here to upgrade your account.

Boosts operates as a robust two-sided marketplace, connecting newsletters looking to grow their audience with publishers looking to promote other newsletters while generating revenue; making it a fantastic opportunity to both grow your audience and monetize your newsletter. You can choose to participate in one or both sides of the Boosts marketplace (grow and monetize), but for optimal success it’s best to take advantage of them in tandem.

On the monetize side of Boosts, beehiiv provides a comprehensive dashboard to help you track and optimize your revenue strategy. You'll gain valuable insights and performance metrics for each publication you partner with, enabling you to maximize your earnings potential.

This article outlines key metrics and their definitions, then walks you through each tab of the Monetize Boosts dashboard, explaining its sections and what to expect. Simply click on any tab below to explore its details.

To access your Monetize Boosts dashboard, navigate to Monetize > Boosts in the left panel of your account.

Important Note: Your newsletter’s monetization strategy is unique, and so is your Boosts data. The examples in this article may differ from your Monetize Boosts dashboard depending on factors such as the Boosts you applied and were accepted to, whether your publication has been invited to boost another, and other factors.

    Top Metrics

Across the top of your dashboard, you'll find high-level metrics summarizing your Boost performance across all partnered publications, organized into 4 sections.

    Total Revenue

The first section highlights key monetization metrics, starting with your revenue. You’ll see:

    • Total Revenue: The total amount you’ve earned from Boosts on beehiiv.
    • Pending Revenue: Earnings currently awaiting subscriber verification.
    • If a promotion is active, relevant details may also be displayed.

Tech Note: beehiiv verifies subscribers to ensure quality and engagement. Publishers paying for subscribers can set additional criteria, such as country restrictions. Pending funds indicate that the system is assessing whether the subscriber meets all conditions. If verified, the funds are approved; if not, they are returned to the original newsletter wallet.

Click View revenue breakdown to see earnings per subscriber.

    Verified Subscribers

The second section displays subscriber metrics, including:

    • Verified Subscribers: Subscribers who have successfully passed verification.
    • Pending Subscribers: Signups through Boosts that are still awaiting verification.
    • Total Subscribers: The total number of subscribers you have sent to other publications via Boosts.

Reminder: The Total Subscribers count may differ from other dashboards, as it specifically reflects subscribers referred to other publications through Boosts.

    Active Boosts and CPA

    The third section includes:

    • Active Boosts: The number of currently running Boosts.
    • Average CPA (Cost Per Acquisition): The average amount earned per subscriber referred through Boosts.

    Verification Rate

The final section provides insights into:

      • Verification Rate: The percentage of signups that have passed beehiiv’s verification process.
      • Pending Web Boosts and Pending Email Boosts: The number of signups still awaiting verification for Web and Email Boosts.

    Overview Tab

The Overview tab of your dashboard gives you a comprehensive look at how your Boosts monetization is performing, with your available Email Boosts and a table showing each of your current Boosts agreements.

First, if you have any, you’ll see any pending invitations to Boosts that you have received from other publications interested in working with yours. Click Review Boost Invites to see the invitations.

Partners who have Email Boosts available

Next, you’ll be presented with any Email Boosts offers from publications you are currently working with, giving you flexibility to increase your monetization options for your next send. Click Apply next to any offer to apply for the Boost.

View and search the table of your partnered publications

At the bottom of the Overview tab, you'll find a table displaying all of your Boost agreements.

Use the Search Publications field at the top of the table to locate a specific publication. You can refine your results further by using the first dropdown menu to filter by status (defined below).

Or, click the second dropdown menu to sort by any of these key metrics: Total subscribers, Verified subscribers, Pending subscribers, Pending revenue, or Total revenue.

Then to further refine, click the arrow icon next to the selected sorting metric to toggle between ascending and descending order.

Note: If you have many past and present Boosts agreements, changes to your table’s organization may take a few moments to load.
