Using cashtags in your posts
Cashtags work like hashtags but use a dollar sign ($) instead of a hash (#) to represent stocks or cryptocurrencies. They typically match a company’s ticker symbol on exchanges like the NYSE. For example, Apple’s cashtag is $AAPL.
With the Stocktwits integration enabled, cashtags in your posts will automatically display the stock’s previous day’s closing price, updated in real-time via the Stocktwits API.
How to include a cashtag in your post
- When drafting a post, type $ followed by the stock ticker symbol to include a cashtag in your content. You can add up to 5 cashtags to each post.
Once published, the cashtag will display the ticker with the previous day's closing value. For example, typing $AAPL will show Apple’s ticker symbol along with the most recent daily price change.
Tech Note: Cashtags cannot be added to automation emails, welcome emails, or opt in emails at this time. - While in Draft mode in the editor, only the cashtag’s stock ticker will be visible on the post. For example, $AAPL.
- To preview how the cashtag will look before publishing, click Preview in the top-right corner of the post editor. This will display the cashtag with the stock’s latest percentage change on the preview. For example, AAPL (^0.174%).
The preview reflects how the cashtag will appear once published, which will showcase the stock’s previous day’s closing price as its most current price.
How to share your post on Stocktwits
Once the Stocktwits integration is enabled for your workspace, you can share any post directly to Stocktwits, including your featured cashtags and a custom message.

- Enabling this will also publish your post to Stocktwits and allow you to tag up to 5 cashtags from your post content.
- (Optional) You can also add a custom message to the Stocktwits post. The message will automatically include the post URL and featured cashtags.
- Lastly, Select your sentiment by choosing either Bullish (optimistic, expecting prices to rise) or Bearish (pessimistic, expecting prices to fall) from the dropdown menu. These sentiment tags help categorize your content and engage the right audience.
