How to create and verify your beehiiv account
Welcome to beehiiv! Setting up and verifying your account is a quick and straightforward process, allowing you to get started on building your newsletter in just a few minutes. Follow these steps to create your account and ensure it's fully verified, so you can begin crafting and sharing your content right away.
How to create and verify your account
- From beehiiv.com, click Start Trial.
Or, from the beehiiv login page, click Create one next to ‘Don’t have a beehiiv account?’.

You’ll be directed to the Pricing page, where you can compare the features of each plan. To begin your free trial, choose between the Scale and Max plans and click Start a 30-Day Free Trial.
For the purpose of this guide, we’ll select the Max plan trial. Refer to this article for more information on what is included in a free trial.
Pro Tip: The 30-day free trial of the Scale or Max plans does not require a credit card. A trial of select paid features begins immediately upon choosing to Start a 30-Day Free Trial from the Pricing page. It will end as soon as you upgrade to a paid subscription. If you choose not to upgrade at the end of your trial, you will lose access to the features available during that period. Please note that while you can access select paid plan features during your free trial, you remain subscribed to our Launch plan and are subject to its respective limits. - Once you've made your selection, you'll be directed to a page where you can create your beehiiv account. Please enter your first and last names in the designated fields.

Enter your email address and create a password. Click Get Started.
Note: The password must be between 8 and 20 characters long and include at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.
- You’ll be directed to a page to verify your email. Click the Open option to access your inbox. If you haven't received the verification email, click Resend Email.
- Locate the email in your inbox with the subject line 'Please confirm your email.' Open the email and click Verify to confirm your address.
- You'll be prompted to verify your phone number for spam prevention and security purposes. If you'd like to receive updates from beehiiv via SMS, check the box that says I want to receive updates about beehiiv via SMS.
Enter your phone number and click Send Code.
- Retrieve and enter the code you received via text message. If you haven't received a code, click Resend code.
- Your account will be verified. To personalize your newsletter setup, choose from the options: Experienced, Beginner, or Curious. You can also select Skip for a less-guided experience.
After making your selection, click Continue. For the purposes of this guide, we selected the Beginner path.
- You’ll be directed to a page where you can create your publication.
Enter your Newsletter Name, which will be displayed on your landing page. Choose your Subdomain Name; this will be part of your publication’s live URL.
- Personalize your publication by selecting up to 3 content tags under What’s your newsletter about?
Note: These tags are important as they influence the ads, Boosts, and recommendations your newsletter will receive, so choose wisely.

Upload your newsletter logo by clicking Browse or Upload. We recommend using an image size of 800 x 800 pixels.
- When you have finished adding all of your information, click Continue.
- You’ll be prompted to indicate how you heard about us. Check all options that apply, then click Continue.
- You’ll be asked whether you are publishing a newsletter independently or on behalf of an organization. Make your selection and click Continue. The next questions will vary depending on your choice.
- Once you’ve completed the creator questions, you’ll be prompted to indicate how often you plan to publish. Select your preference and click Continue.
- In the final step, you’ll have the option to upgrade your account to access all features, including those not available during the trial period, immediately.
Frequently asked questions
What if I don’t receive my confirmation email?
As a first step, add '[email protected]' to your email provider’s safelist and resend your confirmation. If after that you still do not receive your confirmation email, please ask our Chatbot Assistant, Buzz, to help you contact support for further assistance.
What if I don’t receive my SMS verification?
If you’ve attempted to resend the code and it still doesn’t arrive after multiple attempts, please ask our Chatbot Assistant, Buzz, to help you contact support for further assistance.
