Setting a default language for your publication
beehiiv has several languages, other than English, that are supported in the application. By default, beehiiv provides auto-generated text in certain areas, such as subscription information and double opt in confirmation emails.
To enhance the experience for your international readers, you can set your preferred language in your publication settings, as explained below. This ensures that all auto-generated text is displayed in the language of your choice, providing a consistent and clear experience for your audience and reducing confusion for readers less proficient in English.
Quick tips to get you started
- If you do not change your default language settings, your auto-generated text will appear in English, regardless of the language you use in your posts.
- If you are writing in a language that is not currently supported by beehiiv, your auto-generated text will remain in whatever language you have set in your default language settings.
- The following languages are supported:
- English
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
- The AI Writer tool in the post editor can translate your post text into any of the supported languages. To learn more about using AI tools and translating or writing in your preferred language, please read this article.
