Disclaimer: The beehiiv platform has evolved since the filming of this video, so parts of the user interface featured in the video will be slightly different than what you see in your account. In particular, the text boxes for title and slug have moved to the left side of the page.

How to add custom pages to your website

  1. From the left panel in your account, go to Design > Website Builder.

  2. The Website Builder will open on the Home Page, but you’ll need to change that to Custom Pages.

Make the switch by clicking on the down arrow next to Home Page in the center of the page, then select Custom Pages.

  1. You’ll be brought to the Custom Pages area where you can add an Internal or External Page. If you’ve already added some custom pages, you’ll also be able to filter them by type or status.

External Page Elements

If selecting an External Page, a form on the right will appear. You’ll need to give it a title and provide the full URL that the new page should hyperlink to, then click on the Create button.

Reminder: Be sure to include https:// when adding your external page URL.

Internal Page Elements

If selecting an Internal Page, which can be used as a Standalone Page, you’ll be brought to a new page where you’ll need to fill in the details of the page.

On the left side:

  • You can click to upload a thumbnail image for your page.
  • Decide if it should be a Draft or Standalone Page
    • A Draft Page can be added to the navbar so it is easily accessible from any page, whereas a Standalone Page will not appear in your navigation.
    • A common Standalone Page is a Thank You page, which can be added to your Signup Flow to thank your new subscribers for joining.
  • Give the custom page a title (required). This will be what your users will see listed in your navbar; and it’s also best practice to use the same name/title for your SEO title.
  • Determine what the slug for the page will be (required), this will be added to the end of your page URL.
  • Add an SEO title, which is the title that will be used in search engines and in social media snippets. It is recommended to use the same name/title for your main page title that is logged on the right side.
  • If you’ve added an SEO title, be sure to also add an SEO description, which is the description that will be used in search engines and in social media snippets.
  • If you’d like the page to only be accessible to your paid subscribers, then toggle the Paid Subscribers? option on so that it shows as checked.
  • If you’d like to prevent search engines from indexing the page, then toggle the No Indexed Enabled? option on.

On the right side:

  • Design the look and feel of the custom page by typing / in the blank space to access the beehiiv editor and all of the tools that you are familiar with from designing your publications.

  1. When finished adding all of the details for the page, click on the Create Page button in the top right corner. You’ll be redirected back to the Custom Pages area.

  1. In the Custom Pages area, you’ll see your newly created page. You can click the three dots menu next to the selected page for options to View, Remove from site, Edit, or Delete the page that you created.

Note: If your page is saved as a Draft, you will not be able to view the page. Instead of Remove from site, you will see the option Publish to site.
