How to set up a Stripe Express account for monetization

To earn revenue through the Boosts Marketplace or Ad Network, each publication must have its own Stripe Express account. This account allows you to receive earnings and deposit funds securely. Since each publication requires a separate Stripe Express account, you cannot use the same account across multiple publications.

This article will walk you through setting up your Stripe Express account in beehiiv, ensuring you're ready to start earning. For info on other Stripe accounts you may encounter on beehiiv, read our overview article explaining the types of Stripe accounts.

1. From the left panel in your account, scroll down and click Settings, then select Payment Accounts.
   
   
   Note: You can also access this page from the Boost Marketplace and Ad Network dashboards.

3. Select your country from the dropdown, then click Create new account.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   Tech Note: In rare cases, certain currencies may not be supported by Stripe due to country restrictions. This is outside of beehiiv’s control. Refer to Stripe’s global availability and contact Stripe support for assistance if needed.
4. You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s website to complete the setup. Fill in your Email, Full Name, Password, and Country. Click Create account.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   Reminder: This is a publication-specific Stripe Express account. If it's your first time setting up an account for this publication, do not use an existing Stripe login.
5. You’ll be asked to verify your email. Check your inbox and follow Stripe’s instructions to verify your email address.
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. After verifying, Stripe will prompt you to complete your Stripe Express setup by providing your business info. Click Add business information and complete the required fields.

Frequently asked questions about using a Stripe Express account

I see a warning on my Ad Network dashboard that says ‘Stripe Required: All Ad Network payments are made through Stripe directly into your beehiiv wallet. Please ensure your Stripe account is set up to receive earnings.’ What do I need to do?

Click Connect Stripe in the warning banner and then follow the setup instructions above starting from Step 3.









Can I use the same Stripe Express account for multiple publications?

No, each publication requires its own dedicated Stripe Express account. You cannot link the same account across multiple publications.

What if my country isn’t supported by Stripe for payouts?

Stripe has restrictions on certain countries and currencies. Check Stripe’s global availability and contact Stripe support for more information on your eligibility.

Can I disconnect my Stripe Express account later?

Yes. You can remove your Stripe Express account by clicking Delete Stripe Express Account from your Payment Accounts page. However, this will impact your ability to receive Ad Network or Boosts earnings.
