What is the cookie duration?
Cookies are valid for 60 days. If a lead clicks your link and becomes a paying beehiiv customer within this period, you will earn a commission. Commissions are based on a first click basis within these 60 days. If a lead signs up after that 60-day window, you wouldn’t get credited with that commission.
How does the 12-month commission payout period work?
The 12-month commission period begins from the day a customer pays. For instance, if a referred customer starts with a trial or stays on a free plan and then upgrades in the second month, you'll receive commissions for the next following 12 months. The 12 month clock starts from the date a customer pays.
What if a customer signs up for an annual plan?
If a customer selects an annual plan, you will still earn a 50% commission. For a $499 plan, that's $249.50.
What happens if a customer downgrades or upgrades?
Commissions adjust with the new plan. If someone goes from the $99 Max plan to the $39 Scale plan, your commission changes from $49.50 to $24.50. Vice versa would happen if a customer upgrades.
When are payouts made?
Payouts are on the 15th monthly. New commissions have a 30-day hold. For example, a May 10th commission is paid on July 15th. Commissions are processed on the 1st and paid on the 15th.
How are commissions paid?
All commissions that are paid on the 15th of each month are done so via Paypal only.
Are there any disallowed traffic sources?
Partners can't compete with beehiiv's ads or use deceptive advertising. Prohibited methods include unsolicited emails, bots, and ads are against beehiiv's brand guidelines. beehiiv Inc. can warn or terminate violating partners at any time, which may lead to forfeited commissions. Refer to our guidelines for a detailed list. If you’re unsure or have questions regarding a traffic source, always reach out to us ahead of time.
Do partners get access to promo codes?
No, partners receive a unique affiliate link that is shared with prospective customers.
Can I offer incentives to my audience as a partner?
Yes. We can give a coupon for 20% off the first 3 months on any paid plan (upon request). You can also add unique offers using your partner link. Feel free to get creative!
Is there a limit to what I can earn?
You are eligible to earn commissions from an unlimited number of referrals. The maximum eligible commission earned payout per referral is capped at $100,000 (USD).
