How to add and manage authors for your newsletters

Any of your publication teammates can send and author your newsletter. Additionally, you can also highlight guest authors for your posts.

Featuring guest authors is a great way to add variety to your newsletter content. By leveraging freelance talent or inviting contributors, you can inject fresh perspectives, expand your reach, and foster community engagement. 

How to edit the author(s) of a post

  1. Access the Post Builder by opening a saved post or clicking Start Writing from the left panel dashboard.

  2. When the Post Builder opens on the Compose page, add an author if none is listed by clicking Add author above the post title. The selected author’s name will then appear below the title.

    To add more authors, click the + icon and select Add author. You can feature multiple teammates, a checkmark will indicate selected names in the dropdown options.

    By default, the author byline appears on both web and email posts. To hide it from emails, click the eye icon next to the author’s name, then toggle off Show in email. To remove an author, click the x next to their name.

Adding guest authors

  1. To add a guest author, click the + icon and select Add guest author. You can feature multiple guest authors, and a checkmark will indicate selected names in the dropdown options.

    To remove an author, click the X next to their name on the post.



  2. To add a new guest author, click Create guest author. A popup will appear for you to add the details. Enter a Full name (required), add their Twitter handle (optional), and upload a Profile Picture (optional). Click Save Guest Author.



  3. You’ll be brought back to the Post Builder. Above the post title, click on Add authors, or click the + icon and select Add guest author. Your newly added name will show in your list, click on it.

    Once selected, the name will show a checkmark and will be featured on the post. Changes will be automatically synced.



  4. You can also select Manage guest authors to be taken to your Guest Authors dashboard. From here, you can add new guest authors and Edit or Delete your existing guest authors.



  5. After adding an author to a post, you can choose whether their name appears in the email. Click either the eye or + icon next to their name and select Visibility from the dropdown.



  6. By default, the byline appears in both web and email posts. To hide it from emails, toggle off Show in email. Changes are saved automatically.
